Hope (The Real Thing)

⁷Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

⁸This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

⁹Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. ~ Joshua 1:7-9

Read, study, and obey the Word of God.

Never fear He is with His children. His children are obedient and shall be showered with many blessings. Will those blessings come easy? No. But, as long as you are obedient: "...then thou shalt have good success."

See? Hope.

Psalm 56:7-13

⁷Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.

⁸Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

⁹When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

But, our country is only headed toward further oppression of it's people as it travels further away from God.

Psalm 103:17-18

17But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children;
18To such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Proverbs 29:11

A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

Though God was speaking these words to Jeremiah we ought to remember them too, because they apply to us as well. We may not have Judah as our enemy but, God is still in charge and over our enemies. We are on the winning side. Take heart, people. We cannot lose.

The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. - Proverbs 15:33

The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. - Proverbs 19:23

A verse to remember when you're tempted.

As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion. ~ Proverbs 11:22
