One favorite part, at least, is the tea party Bilbo inadvertently throws for the dwarves. His frantic consternation about the whole thing is hysterical.
Oh, the whole story from start to finish is a work of art! I cannot believe how amazing Tolkien was. The man had more imagination in his little finger than I have in my entire body. To create not only a full cast of characters and a mystical land but also a whole language... wow. Anyway, I have no favorite part. I just wanted to get some of my admiration for good old Tolkien out into the open.
